Saturday Drive to Swell Festival Beach Sculptures

The anticipation was palpable as we set off on a beautiful Saturday morning drive down the M1 towards the highly-anticipated Currumbin Swell Festival 2023. The sun was only just beginning to rise, casting a warm golden glow on the horizon, as we made our way towards the pristine shores of Currumbin Beach.

Check Out Our Reel

As we arrived at our destination, we were greeted by the shimmering ocean, inviting us to embark on a leisurely stroll along the beach. The annual Currumbin Swell Festival is renowned for its stunning display of sculptures, carefully placed along the shoreline for all to marvel at.

The gentle crashing of the waves provided the perfect soundtrack as we wandered along the sandy beach, taking our time to appreciate the intricate details of each sculpture. This year, there were many new and different artworks that breathed fresh life into the festival, igniting our curiosity with their unique stories and forms.

We soon realized that we were not alone in our admiration for these striking sculptures. Other keen photographers and art enthusiasts had also come out early to capture the festival's enchanting ambiance and the beauty of the beach at sunrise. It was a testament to the universal appeal of the Currumbin Swell Festival, where creativity and natural beauty seamlessly converged.

In between capturing snapshots of these magnificent art pieces, we caught glimpses of surfers catching the early morning waves. The sight of their grace and skill against the backdrop of the festival was a reminder of the interconnectedness between nature, sport, and art.

As the morning unfolded, we couldn't help but feel inspired and uplifted by the beauty surrounding us. The Currumbin Swell Festival served as a gentle reminder of the importance of creativity, nature, and community in our lives.

Whether you were an art enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply seeking a day of inspiration, the Currumbin Swell Festival 2023 was truly a place where art and nature converged in perfect harmony. As the day drew to a close, we left the festival with a renewed appreciation for the power of art to captivate, inspire, and connect us to the world around us.

Make sure to mark your calendars for next year's festival, because the Currumbin Swell Festival is an experience not to be missed!

We then headed to a breakfast spot with a beautiful scenic view and a place where you could bring your furry friend for a great time; the Dune Café Currumbin is the perfect spot.

The early morning breakfast experience was a delightful one. The beautiful location overlooking the water and park made it an incredible experience. The view is breathtaking, calming, and one that could keep you staring out for hours. The scenery is a perfect spot to catch up with friends, read a book, or even to have just sit and enjoy the tranquility and peacefulness of the beautiful environment.

The staffs were incredibly warm, friendly, and charming and showed love to our furry friend. It added to the incredible experience knowing that we could bring our pup and enjoy a delicious breakfast and a scenic view. We were served a breakfast burger and chili scramble eggs, and it was a delight to our taste buds. The café offers an array of food in their menu, and there's no way anyone would get disappointed.

After breakfast, we decided to take our pup for a run and swim down at the dog off-leash beach, which was an incredible experience. Our furry friend had so much fun, and we couldn't be more grateful to have searched out such an amazing spot for us all to have a great time.

We would highly recommend a visit to the Dune Café Currumbin to anyone looking for a beautiful scenic spot where they could bring their pets and have an incredible time. We had an amazing early mooring breakfast experience, enjoyed great food, had a beautiful scenic view of the water and park, all while spending quality time with our pup. The Café is truly dog-friendly, offers delicious food, and has a scenic view; it's an excellent spot that's perfect for anyone.

Saturday Morning Drive to Toowoomba: Exploring the Best of the City

Are you looking for a perfect Saturday getaway? Look no further than a drive to Toowoomba, a charming city known for its stunning gardens, vibrant markets, and impressive street art scene. Join us as we embark on a memorable journey filled with delicious food, local markets, breathtaking blooms, and more.

Breakfast at Urth Cafe and Co

Our day began with an early start as we made our way up the picturesque Toowoomba Range. Upon reaching the city, we headed straight to Urth Cafe and Co for a scrumptious breakfast. As we settled down in the cozy ambiance, we couldn't resist ordering their famous big breakfast, complete with all our favorites. We also indulged in some mouthwatering egg benedict while our furry friend, Shari, enjoyed a special treat - a delightful puppuccino. The food was simply amazing, and we were impressed by the friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere that surrounded us.

Cob and Co Markets: A Haven for Foodies and Shopaholics

After a satisfying breakfast, we decided to explore the nearby Cob and Co Markets. This vibrant marketplace offers a plethora of locally grown produce, delicious meats, boutique wines and spirits, aromatic coffee, handcrafted artworks, alluring candles, natural skincare products, toys, pet supplies, and even live music to keep you entertained. It was a treasure trove of unique and high-quality items, and we couldn't resist picking up a few goodies to take home.

Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers: A Blooming Spectacle

From the markets, we made our way towards Queens Park to experience the annual Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers. Walking through the park, we were captivated by the sight of thousands of blooms, creating a kaleidoscope of colors and fragrances. It was a true feast for the senses, and we spent hours exploring the different garden displays and taking in the natural beauty that surrounded us.

Unleashing Fun at Queens Park

As we ventured further into Queens Park, we stumbled upon the unfenced dog off-leash area near Godsail Street entry. It was the perfect spot for our furry friend, Shari, to stretch her legs and socialize with other friendly dogs. It was heartwarming to see our pup so happy and carefree as she ran and played in the spacious grassy area. This was a delightful break for us as well, giving us a chance to relax and enjoy the picturesque surroundings.

Exploring Toowoomba's CBD and Street Art Scene

Leaving the park behind, we made our way towards Toowoomba's CBD, eager to discover some of the city's impressive street art. To our delight, the streets were adorned with vibrant murals and captivating artworks, each telling its own unique story. We took our time strolling through the streets, capturing photos and marveling at the talent on display.

A Tranquil Oasis: Japanese-Style University Garden

Our final stop for the day was the Japanese-style university garden, a hidden gem that allowed us to soak in a sense of tranquility. The garden boasted a picturesque mountain-style stream, elegant bridges, and hills covered in blooming azaleas. It was a peaceful escape, and we took our time exploring the paths, admiring the serene beauty that surrounded us.

Conclusion

Our Saturday morning drive to Toowoomba was a delightful experience, filled with delightful food, vibrant markets, breathtaking blooms, and fascinating art. It was a reminder of the hidden treasures that lie just a short drive away from our doorstep. Whether you're a foodie, a nature lover, or an art enthusiast, Toowoomba has something to offer for everyone. So grab your loved ones, hit the road, and create your own adventure in this charming city.
