Day Trip To Kingscliff and Markets, Northern New South Wales. Australia

Late decision we jumped out of bed early for a 90-minute drive south of the Brisbane, to Kingscliff which boasts all the natural beauty of the Gold Coast without the crowds. The beaches in this part of the world are pretty spectacular, with clean white sand and blue-green waves spanning as far as the eye can see.

With an untouched beauty Northern NSW beaches will have you continually searching for your camera app to capture the incredible scenery. Our favourite swimming locations include Casuarina Beach, Cabarita beach, Kingscliff beach, Norries Head, Hastings Point Inlet, and Cudgen Creek. We headed to South Kingscliff and parked near Cudgen Creek boat ramp and walked back to the Markets. Kingscliff is a quiet seaside town and its population is at its peak during holiday periods so getting a park early is extremely important.

With a beautiful beachfront location and an array of local produce, Kingscliff Markets in Northern NSW are truly enjoyable for all ages. It’s great to spend a relaxing Saturday morning strolling through the vast array of gourmet food, produce, craft, artwork, fashion, jewellery, flowers, gifts and food stalls. The markets are pet friendly as they know how much your furbabies are part of the family.

Kim picked up a Frill Button Pinefare Unen Stripe Navy form Chantik Vibe. Chantik Vibe is a handcrafted, fashionable, comfortable, stylish and sustainable range of eco-apparel. Kim seems to pick up a new item from Chantik Vibe at Kingscliff and Eumundi every-time we go.

After the markets we walked the coastal town which boasts over 20 sidewalk cafes, restaurants and boutiques that Kim loves. We stopped last at The Salt Mill, which has opened another pocket-sized cafe on the southern end of Kingscliff. Just like their Currumbin location, you’ll be ordering Allpress coffee, smoothies and acai bowls only a towel throw from the glistening white sand of Kingscliff Beach. Kim picked up an Acai Coconut and Cacao Bowl and we headed down to Cudgen Creek to give our pup (Shari) a quick swim. Just make sure you have your dog on a lead at ALL times or a fine of $300 is coming your way.

After a quick swim it started to get a little crowded so we then headed just down the road to Salt Village, which is a destination like no other. At Salt Village you can experience the bliss of an unspoilt beachside location and indulge in the myriad of pleasures, such as award winning restaurants and bars, popular shops and retail outlets, kids playgrounds and bike paths, and of course the irresistible allure of the ever-popular Salt Beach. We eyed of first the French Patisserie which is an Authentic French Patisserie - gateaux, croissant, pastries, artisan breads, coffee, croquembouche, macarons and more. Kim then walked around and checked out the retail shops.
