  Day Trip to Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers, Queensland. Australia With its blossoming culinary culture, country vibe and city convenience, It’s where crisp winter air finds its appetising antidote in a smorgasbord of cool cafes, bars and restaurants.  Toowoomba should be at the top of your list for a weekend getaway. We hit the range with a blanket of thick fog and parked in the side street beside Queens Park and the markets at Cobb & Co.  We took a stroll through Queens Park to Park House Café, which we visited a month ago and really liked it. Unfortunately this time around we were unimpressed, with all table reserved we were offered the table near the stairs with no cover or outdoor umbrellas. Due to the wind the host started there wasn’t anything to anchor them down, but the other seven umbrellas had no problems with sandbags. The table was wet from the mist and fog. Sunshine Coast, Bloody Long Walk 2020 On Sunday plenty of people joined Bloody Long Walk, A 35km challenge to cure Minto. The bright, sunny morning belied the sombreness of the occasion as family and friends gathered at Tickle Park, Coolum, some with a coffee and a chat before the walk to stand up and support people living with mitochondrial disease. Mitochondrial disease (mito) is a debilitating genetic disorder that robs the body’s cells of energy, causing multiple organ dysfunction or failure and potentially death. Mito affects 1 in 5000 people,  making it the second most commonly diagnosed, serious genetic disease after cystic fibrosis.  One in 200 people, or more than 120,000 Australians, may carry genetic mutations that put them at risk for developing mito or other related symptoms such as diabetes, deafness or seizures during their lifetimes.
