STYLE EUMUNDI, SUNSHINE COAST. AUSTRALIA
"Don't be into
trends. Don't make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want
to express by the way you dress and the way to live."
We
headed to Eumundi Markets to highlight a great small business, Style Eumundi.
This is one of Kim’s favourite fashion shops in Eumundi.
Famous
for its artisan culture, the Eumundi Markets have a major emphasis on fashion.
This is the place where many local designers get their big break and create a
loyal following. As a result, the bustling and enduringly popular markets
feature everything from children’s clothing to apparel, summer dresses,
jewellery, hats, shoes and handbags, and chances are the stallholder you meet
is the very person who designed and created the piece.
The
Eumundi Markets are renowned as the biggest and best art and craft markets in
Australia and have a culture of “make it, bake it, sew it, grow it”, meaning
most of what’s available is hand-made and unique to the Sunshine Coast District.
If art
is food for your creative soul, then Eumundi has a banquet on offer. From Tina
Cooper's glorious, vibrant glass gallery to the intricate Indigenous artwork of
Red Desert Gallery, the town's artistic offerings are enlightening and
inspiring.
Eumundi
newcomer Artisan's Gallery is worth a visit for its fine art and timber work,
and don't miss the contemporary street art on show at Generator Gallery.
While
the town itself is small, Eumundi's passion for style is enormous. The Emporium
offers an abundance of women's clothing, jewellery and accessories, along with
some gorgeous, on-trend homewares.
The
aptly named Eumundi Style boutique stocks an exclusive range of colourful
garments. They are a lifestyle store, which specialise in natural fibres and
Australian designers.
Kim
loves the store and the ranges that they stock are a tribute to Aussie girls.
They are proud to support Aussie labels and pay tribute to their amazing
designs, fabrics and have an extraordinary variety under one banner
EUMUNDI STYLE and the women at Pearls for Girls will help you find the perfect
piece of pearl, turquoise or amber jewellery.
Eumundi
is renowned for its music scene and the town's weekly line-up is unlikely to
disappoint those in need of some music therapy.
While
Kim enjoyed shopping, I took the opportunity to check out The Imperial Hotel. The Imperial Hotel and Eumundi Brewery really
is a jewel of the Noosa hinterland, with its colourful creative décor and
murals, wide verandahs, sensational beer garden and relaxed vibe. The impressive
hotel menu features their spin on classic pub favourites along with a selection
of contemporary dishes – guaranteed to appeal to all the foodies in your tribe.
And
when it comes to the brews, Eumundi Brewery Lager and Eumundi Brewery Pale Ale
have become firm favourites with locals and tourists alike.
I took
a 60 minute Eumundi Brewery Tasting Tour, where I got to explore the 100
year-old hotel and brewery. We heard about the history of brewing in Eumundi,
learnt about the beer making process and enjoyed a 'tasting log' (Eumundi is an
old timber town after all!) of the local brews.
The
hotel is also a great place to soak up live music grooves. Guests will enjoy
acoustic sets in the beer garden all weekend + see some of the best bands in
the business playing ticketed shows in the entertainment spaces known as 'The
Bunker', 'The Green Room' and 'The Brewery'.
The
Imperial Hotel in Eumundi is a strikingly vibrant hotel, offering visitors a
multitude of reasons to visit. In my opinion, it's the perfect location
destination for "where shall we meet?" - throw excellent food plus
fabulous ambience into the equation and we have a sure-fire winner!
