Morning Adventure

Looking for a relaxing yet adventurous Sunday morning outing? Look no further than Kingscliff, a charming coastal town in New South Wales. With stunning beaches, delightful cafes, and hidden treasures, Kingscliff offers the perfect getaway for a leisurely drive.

Our Sunday morning drive to Kingscliff, New South Wales, began with a delightful breakfast at Mockingbird Cafe. Nestled between indoor and alfresco tables, we relished the perfect setting for people-watching while savouring our meals. The friendly staff and dog-friendly environment added to the welcoming ambiance. Tony opted for the classic bacon and egg roll, while Kim indulged in corn fritters accompanied by a rocket salad, avocado, and bacon. Shari, a true bacon enthusiast, stuck to her favorite.

Although Kingscliff boasts stunning beaches, our hearts always gravitate towards Cudgen Creek. Its serene, clear waters and protective calmness beckoned us for a refreshing swim, leaving us rejuvenated. Faulks Park, located at the southern end of Marine Parade, charmed us with its picturesque beauty, enticing even the hesitant swimmers to dip their toes into the inviting blue-green waters.

As the day unfolded, we strolled back along Marine Parade, allowing Kim to explore the boutiques Kingscliff’s array of boutiques catered to all tastes, showcasing local talent and offering a delightful shopping experience.

A short drive away led us to Figal Heads, where lunch awaited us at the Sheoak Shack Gallery Cafe. The toasties were a treat to our taste buds as we marvelled at the breathtaking river view. This hidden gem, a testament to supporting local artists, was a visual delight. The incredible staff and the cafe’s owner added warmth and a personal touch to our already wonderful experience.

Our Sunday morning drive to Kingscliff was everything we had hoped for and more. From a scrumptious breakfast at Mockingbird Cafe to taking a refreshing swim in Cudgen Creek, and exploring the unique shops of Marine Parade, it was a day of relaxation and discovery. And let’s not forget the hidden treasure that is Sheoak Shack Gallery Cafe, offering not only delectable food but also a feast for the eyes with its support of local artists. Kingscliff truly captured our hearts and made for a memorable Sunday morning escape.
