Sunrise Strides and Seaside Bites: A Morning at Bribie Island

Sunrise Serenity: A Perfect Sunday Escape to Bribie Island

The first rays of dawn cast a soft glow over Red Beach, where the ocean hums quietly against the shoreline and the world feels like it’s just waking up. On this Sunday morning, we traded alarm clocks for ocean breezes, city streets for coastal sands, and routine for a dose of pure island bliss.

Morning Magic at Red Beach

Bribie Island’s Red Beach is a slice of paradise where early risers gather to greet the sun. The horizon glowed in soft hues of pink and orange, painting a picture of serenity. Joggers paced along the water’s edge, locals sipped takeaway coffees, and dogs dashed playfully through the surf – including our own pup, Shari, who wasted no time splashing in the shallows.

It’s this easygoing atmosphere – part nature escape, part community vibe – that makes Bribie mornings feel special.

Breakfast at Bribie Island RSL – With a View

After a rejuvenating stroll, it was time for breakfast at the Bribie Island RSL, one of the island’s iconic dining spots. Conveniently located at 99 Toorbul Street, Bongaree, the club is currently undergoing exciting upgrades – think refreshed interiors, modern dining spaces, and an even more welcoming vibe, all while keeping its coastal charm.

What we loved most? The RSL is dog-friendly, so Shari joined us for a leisurely breakfast on the deck. A fresh coffee, hearty meals, and the sight of locals exchanging weekend stories – it was a perfect pause before the next part of our day.

Boardwalk Strolls & Sweet Finishes

With breakfast behind us and the sun climbing higher, we took a scenic walk along Bribie’s boardwalk, soaking up ocean views and feeling the salty breeze on our faces. The gentle sway of palm trees, the sparkle of the water, and the relaxed island pace created the perfect backdrop for a Sunday morning wander.

Before heading home, we made one last essential stop: Kenilworth Island Bakery. Known for its indulgent donuts and artisan pastries, this sweet haven delivered a tempting six-pack of treats that didn’t last long once we got home.

A Morning to Remember

There’s a certain charm to Bribie Island that makes it more than just a coastal escape – it’s a mood, a rhythm, and a reminder to slow down and savour life. From the sunrise magic of Red Beach to dog-friendly dining at the RSL and the irresistible delights of Kenilworth Bakery, this was more than a Sunday outing – it was a little slice of holiday living, just an hour from Brisbane.
