Saturday Mornings by the River: Exploring The Great Artist Markets at Felons

Saturday Morning by the River: Exploring The Great Artist Markets at Felons

There’s something special about waking up to a crisp, sunny Saturday morning in Brisbane. The city feels alive yet relaxed — the kind of day that practically invites you to get out, grab a coffee, and enjoy everything our beautiful riverside has to offer. So that’s exactly what we did!

This weekend’s adventure took us down to Felons Brewery under the iconic Story Bridge, where we finally checked out The Great Artist Markets for the first time. And, of course, our pup Shari was along for the ride — tail wagging, tongue out, and ready for another elevator trip (which she absolutely loves every time).

A Beautiful Morning by the Brisbane River

The morning light was just perfect — that soft golden glow bouncing off the Brisbane River, the hum of early risers walking the boardwalk, and the smell of roasted coffee drifting from the brewery. There’s no better way to start a weekend than right here by the water, watching the city slowly wake up.

The Great Artist Markets at Felons

It was our first time exploring The Great Artist Markets, and what a discovery! The market is a vibrant collection of local artists, crafters, and makers who turn the brewery space into a creative wonderland.

We wandered through stalls filled with hand-painted artwork, unique ceramics, handmade jewellery, natural skincare, and eco-friendly homewares. A few names that caught our eye included:

  • Riverside Clay Co. – beautiful handmade pottery pieces.

  • Luna Threads – sustainable clothing with local designs.

  • Art by Mila Rae – dreamy coastal paintings that felt right at home by the river.

  • The Wild Wick Studio – locally poured soy candles with fresh, natural scents.

The atmosphere was buzzing — live music, friendly faces, and a relaxed crowd enjoying the riverside breeze.

Coffee, Company, and Good Vibes

We grabbed a table just outside with a perfect view of the water, where Tony and Shari set up base for the morning while Kim explored the stalls. Shari, as usual, was the star of the show — soaking up all the attention, pats, and a few cheeky puppy treats from adoring passersby. She absolutely loved every minute of it.

Between sips of coffee and people-watching, time just slipped away. The morning drifted into lunchtime, and we both decided to stay a little longer, ordering up a couple of classic burgers from Felons. Delicious, hearty, and the perfect way to cap off a sunny Saturday outing.

A Perfect Saturday in the City

There’s something about the combination of good food, riverside views, friendly locals, and a creative market scene that makes Felons such a special spot. The Great Artist Markets bring even more charm to an already iconic Brisbane location — a place where you can support local talent, relax by the water, and just enjoy life as it flows by.

We left with full hearts (and stomachs), a few local treasures, and a sleepy Shari in tow — already dreaming about our next city adventure.

If you’re in Brisbane on a weekend, make sure to check out The Great Artist Markets at Felons. It’s the perfect blend of art, community, and that laid-back riverside magic that makes this city so easy to love. 💛
